In a double-blind, placebo-controlled study,156 participants at three different centers applied either a product containing DMAE or a DMAE-free placebo. Every 2 weeks, for an 18-week period, a dermatologist assessed the participants’ skin and rated improvement on a scale from 0 to 9.
